"Write for Charity" Calls for Submissions

I have something a little different to post here today. I was recently approached by the people behind Write for Charity to let you know that they are looking for short story and poetry submissions for an anthology they are putting together.

This book will feature uplifting true stories as well as fictional pieces and poetry all related to the subject of parenting. Stories must be positive and about parenting in some aspect. 101 pieces will be selected from the submissions to appear in the book.

Proceeds from the anthology will go to children's charities. Authors (you) will retain the copyright to your words. All entries must be submitted by April 15. Go to Write for Charity to see the writer's guidelines and learn how to submit your positive parenting piece.

Wanna Win a Wii? And Wii Fit Plus? Yes. You Do.

I am either really out of shape or the new Wii Fit Plus^TM is super awesome, because I just spent forty or so minutes on the thing and I am all sweaty and tired. Come to think of it, maybe both of those things are true.

Regardless, I know that I had fun. The Wii Fit Plus is the new upgrade to the Wii Fit^TM. Nintendo made some really smart changes to the Wii Fit with this addition.

Wii Fit Plus makes it so much easier to actually use the Wii Fit to exercise. Wii Fit has always been fun, but until now, it's been difficult to put together any kind of real workout with it. With the new Wii Fit Plus you can create your workouts ahead of time without having to stop and set up a new exercise between each set.

You may also have read about the super fun time my friends and I had at the Wii Fit Plus party that Nintendo threw for me and some of my friends late last year. Contest is open to U.S. residents 18 years or older. Much as I would like to let my mom, my sister, and my cousins enter, my relatives can't win. Nintendo employees are also ineligible to enter. Sorry. Judgment of the winner is final and cannot be disputed. If the first winner does not get in touch with me within 48 hours of my sending a notification email, I will use a random number generator to pick another person and so on.

Caprica on SyFy

Stimey is watching Caprica. I was a huge fan of Battlestar Galactica, and consider it one of the best TV shows ever made—if not the best. (I'm a nerd.) When I watched the pilot for Caprica, I was a little disappointed, but as I've continued to watch it, it has sucked me and now I am really, really enjoying it.
